Veteran actor Harrison Ford has said he is "delighted" over his engagement to long-term girlfriend Calista Flockhart.
Ford, best known for starring in the Indiana Jones movies, appeared on US TV show Entertainment Tonight.
When asked if they were happy, he joked: "You'd be the first to know if we weren't, wouldn't you? Yes of course we are, I'm delighted."
Brothers And Sisters star Flockhart, 44, and Ford, 66, have been together for more than seven years.
The couple have a son, Liam, who was adopted by Flockhart in 2001.
They have previously remained tight-lipped about their plans to marry.
Flockhart is best known for playing neurotic lawyer Ally McBeal in the popular TV series, which ran from 1997 to 2002 and won four Golden Globe awards.
Ford was interviewed from the set of his new film, in which he plays a scientist.
The currently untitled project is out next year.
